Tarvaris Jackson was arrested Friday on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, stemming from a reported argument with a woman, NFL.com reports.Jackson was subsequently released from Osceola (Florida) County Jail after posting $2,500 bond. The 33-year-old QB, who served as Russell Wilson's backup in Seattle over the past three seasons, remains a free agent, with Trevone Boykin and Jake Heaps currently rounding out the Seahawks' signal-caller depth chart behind Wilson.

Seahawks' Tarvaris Jackson out at least two weeks with ankle injury
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson injured his ankle in Friday's preseason game. Coach Pete Carroll told the media after the game that Jackson's injury is a sprain, not a break. He's expected to miss two weeks. "I don't know. We'll see. I don't know about that yet," Carroll said of the backup quarterback situation, per ESPN. "We'll have to see how it looks tomorrow. The ankle did not swell up much, so we'll see what that means."

In his second stint with Seattle, Jackson will enter his fourth season with the team. With Matt Cassel now in Buffalo and Christian Ponder set to become a free agent Tuesday, former Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson said he would love to be Teddy Bridgewater's backup in Minnesota. "I think I could really help [Bridgewater]," Jackson told Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I think I could help put things in perspective for him with football and outside of football … I feel I can help him just making the game a little easier and kind of learning from my mistakes and stuff." Seahawks' backup QB job will go to the wire
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said the backup quarterback battle between Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor won't be decided for a while, reports the Seattle Times. "We will kind of just let it go for the next three weeks and see what happens," Bevell said. Pryor went 9 of 16 for 137 yards with an interception and ran for 28 yards in the preseason opener. Jackson, last year's backup, hit 5 of 7 throws for 47 yards.
