Falcons cut Brandan Bishop, Reid Fragel, Jacques Smith, two others
The Atlanta Falcons cut five players who spent time on the team's practice squad last season, per the Baltimore Sun. The players released were free safety Brandan Bishop, tackle Reid Fragel, cornerback Jordan Mabin, linebacker Jacques Smith and running back Ronnie Wingo. None of the five had appeared in a game with the Falcons.

The Cleveland Browns will be without linebackers Darius Eubanks (shoulder), Eric Martin (concussion), and Alex Parsons (knee) along with offensive linemen Randall Harris (knee), Reid Fragel (lower leg) and Nate McDonald (wrist) for Saturday's preseason opener, as none of them made the trip to Detroit.

Trio of injuries highlight Browns inactive list
Among the seven players not in uniform for the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 against the Bears Sunday, three had been ruled out prior to kickoff with injuries. Offensive lineman John Greco (knee), running back Willis McGahee (concussion, knee) and tight end Andre Smith (calf) were all ruled out after being unable to practice Friday. The remainder of the inactive list is made up of four healthy scratches: quarterback Alex Tanney; tight end Keavon Milton; and offensive linemen Reid Fragel and Martin Wallace.
