Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Piles up yards late in Week 5 loss

Dak Prescott completed 24 of 42 passes for 316 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the Dallas Cowboys' 24-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night.Prescott's final yardage number was sure to please fantasy managers, but there was a pretty sizable gulf between that figure and the veteran signal-caller's actual play-to-play performance most of the night. Prescott and the air attack struggled through more than a half against an aggressive Buccaneers defense, including on a third-quarter interception that led to a Tampa Bay touchdown. However, he came alive on a mid-fourth-quarter drive where the Cowboys sped up the pace, capping that 10-play, 99-yard possession off with an 18-yard touchdown pass to George Pickens. Prescott had Dallas moving again the next time he had the ball, but a pass that went off Jake Ferguson's hands over the middle was secured by Alex Anzalone for what turned out to be a game-sealing interception. Prescott completed a season-low 57.1 percent of his throws and failed to throw multiple touchdown passes for the third straight game, but he'll still take an impressive 9:3 TD:INT into a Week 6 road showdown against the Packers on Sunday night, Oct. 18.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Rides Lamb to comeback win

Dak Prescott completed 32 of 45 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-30 win over the Texans. He added seven yards on two carries.A surreal 21 of Prescott's 45 attempts went to CeeDee Lamb, and the duo connected on a 12-yard TD with just 40 seconds left in the game for the game-winning score after Javonte Williams had scored Dallas' first three touchdowns in the second half as part of a comeback from a 16-6 halftime deficit. The 335 passing yards (189 of them to Lamb) were a season high for Prescott, and he'll take an 8:1 TD:INT through four games into a Week 5 battle at home against the Buccaneers.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Quiet day in wild Week 3 loss

Dak Prescott completed 25 of 40 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Ravens. He added 19 rushing yards on four carries and also threw a two-point conversion to CeeDee Lamb.Despite the big numbers for the Dallas Cowboys on the scoreboard, Prescott had a relatively quite day in Rio, with Jake Ferguson hauling in his only TD pass in the third quarter. Prescott didn't commit any turnovers for a second straight game, and through three weeks he's completed 69.5 percent of his passes (73-for-105) for 730 yards and a 7:1 TD:INT. The veteran QB will look to stay efficient in a Week 4 road trip to Houston.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Sets franchise record in Week 2 win

Dak Prescott completed 26 of 31 passes for 279 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing four times for 26 yards in the Dallas Cowboys' 37-20 win over the Commanders on Sunday.Prescott's five incompletions and the two sacks he took were about the only blemishes on an otherwise outstanding performance. He was clicking early and often with CeeDee Lamb, connecting with his top wideout for eight of his completions and targeting him nine times overall for a total of 153 yards, including touchdown tosses from three and 24 yards out. Prescott hit Jake Ferguson from 10 and 12 yards for his other two scoring strikes. In the process, Prescott passed Tony Romo to become the Cowboys' all-time leader in career TD passes with 249. Despite a Week 1 loss to the Giants, Prescott's numbers have largely been above reproach, as he has a 73.8 percent completion rate and a 6:1 TD:INT heading into next Sunday's Week 3 home showdown against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Held to 175 passing yards in loss

Dak Prescott completed 22 of 34 passes for 175 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Giants. He also rushed twice for 14 yards.Prescott connected with CeeDee Lamb for a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter and found Javonte Williams for a 17-yard touchdown in the fourth. Prescott's interception in the final minute of the first half proved costly, as the Giants scored a go-ahead touchdown six plays later and led the rest of the way. Lamb finished with just 44 yards and George Pickens had only 28, as Dallas' talented passing game was stuck in first gear. Prescott, who finished third in the league with 4,552 passing yards during the 2025 regular season, will try to pick up the pace in Dallas' Week 2 home opener against the Commanders.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Rests during preseason

Dak Prescott didn't log any snaps during the Dallas Cowboys' three-game preseason schedule.Prescott has had WR CeeDee Lamb to throw to since 2020, but the addition of George Pickens during the 2025 offseason helped the quarterback rack up the second-most passing yards in a season (4,552) of his 10-year career. Additionally, Prescott also tossed 30 TDs for the fourth time among his career-high 600 pass attempts. Dallas likely would like that latter number to come down in a more balanced offense, and a new defensive scheme under coordinator Christian Parker could mean Prescott and the offense are in catch-up mode less often. In any case, Prescott has a bonafide top receiving duo at his services, so another 4,000-yard campaign is entirely within the realm of possibilities in 2026

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Not suited up Saturday

Dak Prescott isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason matchup versus Seattle, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. This doesn't come as a surprise, as coach Brian Schottenheimer said in early August that the team's starters won't play during the preseason. Of course, Prescott has ample NFL experience and probably doesn't need preseason games to get in tune. He'll have plenty of opportunities to shake off any offseason rust and build chemistry with his pass catchers during training-camp practices.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Won't play in preseason

Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Monday that Dallas Cowboys starters won't play in the preseason, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.Schottenheimer didn't specify any particular players, but Dak Prescott is the leader of Dallas' offense and will aim to ensure the unit is running on all cylinders by Week 1 against the Giants on Sunday, Sept. 13. Prescott likely will be joined by RB Javonte Williams, WRs CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens and TE Jake Ferguson, among others, on the sideline during exhibition action.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: On field to open camp

Dak Prescott (knee) is participating in Wednesday's training camp session, Tommy Yarrish of the Dallas Cowboys' official site reports.Prescott isn't wearing a brace on his leg or showing any signs of still managing the knee soreness that caused him to be limited during Dallas' mandatory minicamp back in June. It had been reported upon his initial injury disclosure that Prescott was expected to be a full-go for camp, which appears to be the case. The 33-year-old veteran will spend camp working to improve his chemistry with top wideouts CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in preparation for what's expected to be one of the league's top scoring offenses.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Managing sore knee

Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Dak Prescott will be limited at mandatory minicamp due to knee soreness, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports.Schottenheimer downplayed the severity of Prescott's injury, saying it's a "sore knee, nothing we're concerned about." By all appearances, Dallas is simply taking a cautious approach to the health of the veteran quarterback, who will turn 33 years old in July. It doesn't look like the team has any concerns about Prescott's availability for the start of training camp. Meanwhile, George Pickens has reported to mandatory minicamp after skipping the voluntary portion of the offseason program, though the wideout won't participate in any team drills, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.
