Bears' Gerald Everett: One target in losing effort

Gerald Everett caught one pass for five yards in the Chicago Bears' 29-9 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.Everett has one game with more than five yards this season. Given the veteran's low-volume role in the offense, Everett has very little fantasy value at this time.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Targeted twice in defeat

Gerald Everett caught one pass for three yards in the Chicago Bears' 18-15 loss to the Commanders on Sunday.Everett has caught six passes for 25 yards in seven games this season. Unless the tight end's role changes significantly, it will be tough for Everett to pile up strong fantasy numbers.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Best game of season

Gerald Everett caught two passes for 22 yards in the Chicago Bears' 36-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday.Everett came into this contest having caught three passes for zero yards, so his 22-yard performance may not be a sign of things to come. As the Bears' second tight end behind Cole Kmet, Everett could have a game with no catches at any time unless his role in the offense changes.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Blanked in defeat

Gerald Everett failed to corral his lone target in the Chicago Bears' 21-16 loss to the Colts on Sunday.Through three games, Everett has caught three passes for zero yards on five targets. Unless his role significantly changes, the tight end will retain minimal fantasy value.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Three targets in loss

Gerald Everett caught two passes for one yard in the Chicago Bears' 19-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday. After playing more snaps than teammate Cole Kmet in Week 1, Everett was scaled back to a 36 percent snap share in Week 2. On the season, Everett has three catches for zero yards. Everett's lack of yardage per catch makes him difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Hauls in lone target

Gerald Everett lost one yard on one reception in the Chicago Bears' 24-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.Everett matched fellow tight end Cole Kmet with a single target while Caleb Williams attempted 29 passes. Until the tight end sees a consistent increase in opportunity, his fantasy value may be minimal.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Targeted four times

Gerald Everett caught two of four targets for 10 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Bengals.Everett got a lot of playing time on the first-team offense for a second straight week, including as the lone tight end in three-wide formations. Everett's usage has led to concern about Cole Kmet failing to match his near-every-down role from the past three season, but even if that happens, it's unlikely Everett would get enough snaps/routes to achieve mainstream fantasy utility of his own.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Activated off NFI list

The Chicago Bears activated Gerald Everett (undisclosed) off the active/non-football injury list Sunday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.Everett landed on the NFI list Friday due to an undisclosed issue, but the matter was apparently minor, as he's coming off the list two days later. With his activation, the veteran will be eligible to practice with the team. Everett is slated to work as the Bears' backup at tight end behind Cole Kmet this season.

Bears' Gerald Everett: Lands on NFI list

The Chicago Bears placed Gerald Everett (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Friday, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports.Everett suffered a knee issue Week 18 last season with the Chargers, but placement on the NFI list is an indication that his current injury is unrelated. He's eligible to be activated t at any point this summer. Everett figures to work behind Cole Kmet for Chicago this season, and with a trio of notable wideouts atop the depth chart in DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, it's difficult to imagine much receiving work will be left over for the No. 2 tight end. After exceeding the 400-yard mark for the past five seasons, it wouldn't be surprising if Everett's production as a pass catcher declines during the 2024 season.

    Bears' Gerald Everett: Joining Chicago

Gerald Everett (knee) and the Chicago Bears are in agreement on a contract, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. One of the better receiving options among a weak free-agent class of tight ends, Everett is linking up with a Bears team that already has a proven starter in Cole Kmet, who is coming off a 719-yard, six-TD season. Everett could take some of the snaps in obvious passing situations given that he's probably a bit quicker and more agile, though Kmet is taller, heavier, stronger and has a better track record of receiving production. The Bears may have a lot of two-TE formations in mind, especially with their WR depth behind No. 1 DJ Moore looking shaky at the moment. Still, it's not a great fantasy situation for Everett, who turns 30 in June after five straight seasons in the range of 408 to 555 receiving yards (for three different teams).
