Bills' Josh Allen: Late-game heroics in OT win

Josh Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding 10 carries for 121 yards and another score and a two-point conversion pass in the Buffalo Bills' 37-34 overtime win against the Rams on Monday night.Facing a Rams defense that had forced plenty of inefficiency through the air from both wide receivers and tight ends and operating without both DJ Moore (shoulder) and Joshua Palmer (shoulder), Allen unsurprisingly recorded a season low in completions. However, the prolific signal-caller more than made up for it on the ground with a season-high rushing yardage total, as well as his eighth rushing touchdown of the season. Allen's most crucial runs outside of his one-yard scoring dive early in the fourth quarter came on Buffalo's final drive in overtime, when he rattled off 19- and 13-yard scrambles to move the ball from the Bills' 41-yard line to the Rams' 27-yard line to set up an eventual game-winning field goal from Tyler Bass. Allen also added his seventh passing score of the season late in the third quarter on a seven-yard strike to Keon Coleman, and the two-time All-Pro will next turn his sights to a Week 6 road matchup against the Raiders on Sunday.

Bills' Josh Allen: Two total TDs in loss

Josh Allen completed 23 of 33 passes for 253 yards with a touchdown and an interception and added five carries for four yards and another score in the Buffalo Bills' 29-26 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.Allen lost No. 1 receiver DJ Moore to a shoulder injury in the first half, but he still put together a serviceable passing line that included a 34-yard touchdown pass to Keon Coleman with just over four minutes remaining that erased a 21-20 deficit. That scoring play was preceded by Allen's two-yard touchdown run late in the first half, already his seventh rushing score of the campaign. However, Allen was also responsible for snuffing out Buffalo's last chance at a comeback after New England had answered his touchdown pass with a score of their own, as he threw an interception on a deep pass intended for Joshua Palmer with 1:14 remaining. The star signal-caller will aim to atone in a tough Week 5 road showdown against the Rams on Monday night, Oct. 12.

Bills' Josh Allen: Not listed on Wednesday injury report

Josh Allen (knee) wasn't even listed on Wednesday's injury report.Allen played every snap in last Sunday's win over the Chargers but took a shot to his knee late in the contest, causing some concern on social media. He's all good for Sunday's AFC East tilt with the reeling Patriots, who just got blown out in Jacksonville last Sunday. Fantasy's QB1 through three weeks, Allen is coming off a down Week 3 versus Los Angeles but still has a 13-point fantasy lead on overall QB2 Brock Purdy.

Bills' Josh Allen: Practicing without issue Wednesday

Josh Allen (knee) was spotted participating in practice Wednesday, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.Allen played every snap in this past Sunday's 24-16 win over the Chargers, but he appeared to take a hard hit to his left knee at one point during the fourth quarter of the contest and looked to be in pain. Head coach Joe Brady spoke to the media Monday and downplayed any concern about Allen's availability heading into this Sunday's matchup with the Patriots, and the quarterback's presence on the field for the start of Week 4 prep supports the notion that he'll be ready to go for game day. Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News noted that Allen had no noticeable protection on his knee during individual drills Wednesday and seemed to be moving around without issue.

Bills' Josh Allen: Knee not viewed as concern

Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady downplayed any concern about Josh Allen's health after the quarterback took a hit to his knee during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-16 win over the Chargers, Alex Brasky of SI.com reports. "We're gonna have to see how [Allen] progresses these next couple days," Brady said. "Josh is always a little [gimpy] after the game."With just under 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, a Chargers defender appeared to plow into Allen's left knee at the end of an eight-yard run, leaving the quarterback grimacing in pain afterward. Allen didn't end up missing any snaps and even handled a designed run later on during that same possession, but he was seen favoring the knee in the locker room after the game, per Chris Trapasso of BuffaloRumblings.com. Allen could receive some extra treatment over the next several days while he continues to manage the knee issue, but Brady offered no indication that the star quarterback is at any risk of sitting out next Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Bills' Josh Allen: Labors through Week 3 win

Josh Allen completed 16 of 26 passes for 204 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions and added eight carries for 22 yards and two touchdowns in the Buffalo Bills' 24-16 win over the Chargers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.Allen salvaged his fantasy day with his pair rushing touchdowns, which both came from one yard out in the second and fourth quarter. The do-it-all signal-caller couldn't get into a consistent rhythm through the air, however, as an aggressive and desperate Chargers defense sacked him four times and forced him into three turnovers overall. Fortunately for the Bills, only one of those miscues led to points by Los Angeles, and only a field goal at that. Allen did reestablish some chemistry with the returning DJ Moore, who he connected with for a team-high six completions and 67 yards on a team-high 10 targets. Allen will aim to get back to some efficiency through the air in a Week 4 divisional home battle against the Patriots next Sunday.

Bills' Josh Allen: Another elite performance in win

Josh Allen completed 20 of 31 passes for 248 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing 14 times for 69 yards and another pair of scores in the Buffalo Bills' 41-31 win over the Lions on Thursday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Buffalo.Allen extended his record of most games with two-plus passing touchdowns and two-plus rushing touchdowns, accomplishing the feat for the 10th time in his career while leading the Bills to a wild victory in their first regular-season game at the new Highmark Stadium. His pair of rushing touchdowns came from one and two yards out in the first and third quarters, respectively, and he hit Joshua Palmer (43 yards), Dawson Knox (one yard) and Dalton Kincaid (16 yards) for his trio of scoring strikes. Allen's solid passing numbers were made all the more impressive by the fact he lost DJ Moore to a shoulder injury late in the first half, and the star signal-caller encouragingly displayed strong chemistry with Keon Coleman (6-63-0) in response. Allen has quickly generated a 5:0 TD:INT and added four rushing touchdowns in his first two games, a noteworthy start to a quest for a second career MVP. Allen and his teammates now get some extra rest ahead of a Week 3 home showdown against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Bills' Josh Allen: Two passing TDs, two rushing scores in win

Josh Allen completed 20 of 29 passes for 334 yards and two touchdowns while rushing six times for 23 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 36-31 win over the Texans.Allen ran in touchdowns of 21 yards and one yard in the second quarter. Those two rushing scores give him 43 regular-season rushing touchdowns since the start of the 2023 campaign, which is second most in the NFL during that span behind Derrick Henry. Allen added his third total TD of the second quarter with a 43-yard touchdown pass to offseason acquisition DJ Moore. The 2024 MVP delivered some late heroics after the Buffalo Bills fell behind 31-30 in the fourth quarter, leading a seven-play, 96-yard drive capped by a 34-yard Allen touchdown pass to Joshua Palmer with 1:36 to play. Buffalo's defense did the rest as the Bills improved to 1-0 ahead of Thursday's Week 2 home opener against the Lions.

Bills' Josh Allen: Logs one appearance in preseason

Josh Allen made one appearance during the Buffalo Bills' three-game preseason schedule.Allen suited up for a preseason Week 1 matchup with the Panthers on Aug. 15 and led two scoring drives, completing six of eight passes for 111 yards and one touchdown. His final connection with Keon Coleman resulted in a nine-yard touchdown, after which Allen's exhibition action came to a close. The cameo displayed that Allen already was in midseason form, and he'll be aiming to get back to 4,000 yards through the air in 2026 for the first time since doing so in four consecutive campaigns from 2020-23. He'll be aided in that quest by the offseason addition of WR DJ Moore.

Bills' Josh Allen: Will sit Thursday night

Josh Allen will not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Steelers, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. It comes as no surprise that Allen will be held out, as the Buffalo Bills will ensure their starting quarterback -- and the consensus top quarterback in fantasy football -- does not take any further hits before Week 1. Allen hasn't missed a game since his rookie campaign in 2018, making 137 consecutive starts between the regular season and playoffs, tied for the eighth-longest streak by a quarterback in NFL history.
