Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette relays that Cody Barton is battling Jonas Griffith for the starting inside linebacker job alongside Alex Singleton.Barton spent the first four years of his career in Seattle after the Seahawks drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He joined the Commanders for 2023, and across 13 regular-season games he recorded 121 tackles (67 solo), one pass defended, one interception and one fumble recovery. Barton signed a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos in March, and while he has more experience and reps than Griffith, the two linebackers are expected to compete for a starting role in Denver's defense in training camp and in preseason games.
