Packers' Josh Jacobs: Expected to remain with team
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that the Green Bay Packers are aware of the prior physical abuse allegations involving Josh Jacobs that recently surfaced and "anticipate him being a member" of the team moving forward, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports. Before making his season debut Week 7, Jacobs missed the Packers' first six games after he was placed on the commissioner's exempt list after he was officially charged Aug. 27 with two misdemeanors stemming from his May arrest for a domestic incident. The legal process related to that incident has since played out, but Jacobs' status with the team had been called into question after the NFL announced Saturday that it was reviewing additional allegations of physical and verbal abuse from three different women in incidents dating back to April 2021 that were released following a public records request. Unless the NFL elects to place him back on the exempt list while it reviews the incidents in question, Jacobs looks like he'll be available for Green Bay's next game Sunday at New England. Despite the missed time to begin the season, Jacobs has immediately settled back into a lead role in the backfield and has scored three touchdowns in two games, but he's mustered just 75 yards on 32 carries (2.3 average) to go with 11 receptions for 68 yards on 13 targets.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: Pair of TDs in primetime win
Josh Jacobs rushed 21 times for 39 yards and a touchdown and brought in all six targets for 13 yards and another score in the Green Bay Packers' 27-19 win over the Panthers on Thursday.Jacobs saw a sizable increase in workload after making his Week 7 season debut just four days earlier, and although he couldn't crack the code of what had been a vulnerable Panthers run defense, he still put together a useful fantasy performance thanks to the pair of scores. The veteran back first went into the end zone on a one-yard run that capped off a nine-play, 90-yard march in the second quarter, and he added his four-yard touchdown grab midway through the third. Jacobs looks fully prepared to remain in a workhorse role moving forward, and he'll next take aim at the Patriots' talented front seven in a Week 9 road showdown on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: Racks up 16 touches in return
Josh Jacobs rushed 11 times for 36 yards and hauled in five of seven targets for 55 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 20-17 loss at Detroit. After missing the first six games of the season while on the commissioner's exempt list, Jacobs claimed the lion's share of the Green Bay Packers' backfield touches, with MarShawn Lloyd handling the other eight (for 35 total yards). Meanwhile, an active Pierre Strong didn't get a touch, and Kaleb Johnson was inactive as a healthy scratch. Running room continued to be difficult to find for Green Bay's RBs, with the team overall averaging just 3.2 YPC on Sunday. Jacobs likely will hold on to a majority share of the reps among the group moving forward, with the team next set to host the Panthers on Thursday night.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: Officially cleared for season debut
Josh Jacobs is active for Sunday's game against the Lions. After being removed from the commissioner's exempt list Monday, Jacobs rejoined the Green Bay Packers for practice Wednesday. Jacobs proceeded to practice without any restrictions throughout the week, prompting Green Bay to clear him for his season debut Sunday. Though Jacobs will draw the start out of the backfield in Detroit, the Packers may not hand him his normal workload right away and could decide on the extent of his role as the game unfolds, per Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. Even if he doesn't end up serving as a three-down workhorse in Week 7, Jacobs should eventually settle back into that role in the weeks to come, after Green Bay struggled mightily to generate production from its other running backs in the first six games of the season.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: Active as expected Sunday
Josh Jacobs is active for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Lions.Jacobs was removed from the Commissioner's Exempt List on Monday after sitting out the first six games of the season, and the veteran running back proceeded to participate in all Week 7 prep without limitations. Reports earlier Sunday indicated Jacobs' workload will likely be watched closely as the game unfolds; however, the fact he was able to continue participating in individualized conditioning work at the team facility throughout the time he was on the CEL should leave Jacobs prepared to handle some solid volume in his first game action since the wild-card loss to the Bears in January.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: May not get full workload Sunday
Josh Jacobs is expected to start in his season debut Sunday against the Lions, but the extent of his role is likely to be decided upon as the game unfolds, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. While he spent the first six weeks of the season on the commissioner's exempt list, Jacobs was still allowed at the Green Bay facility and was able to stay on top of his conditioning, but he wasn't cleared to resume practicing with the team until Wednesday. After a full week of drills, the Green Bay Packers were comfortable enough with activating Jacobs for Sunday, but the team plans to "keep an eye on him" and may not be ready to hand him his normal workload right off the bat. In the weeks to come, Jacobs shouldn't have much trouble reclaiming a three-down workhorse role, given the struggles of Green Bay's other running backs in generating production over the first six games of the season.

It remains to be seen what kind of workload he'll be able to handle off the bat, but he at least appears as if he'll be in the mix for RB reps along with MarShawn Lloyd, Pierre Strong and Kaleb Johnson on Sunday.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: On track for Sunday debut
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Josh Jacobs is on track to play Sunday against the Lions, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.Jacobs was removed from the exempt list Monday, and all signs point to the veteran running back making his 2026 season debut against Detroit. Green Bay's backfield production has been abysmal through six weeks, so Jacobs' return can only help the situation. Jordan Love's incredible pass volume could also take a hit with Jacobs returning to the lineup.

Packers' Josh Jacobs: Practicing Thursday
Josh Jacobs took part in practice Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.Jacobs was removed from the commissioner's exempt list Monday, and while the Green Bay Packers held a walkthrough Wednesday, it wasn't open to the media, so his activity Thursday marks his first visible on-field work since training camp. It remains unclear if Green Bay will clear him to play Sunday at Detroit, but the team has a roster exemption at its disposal that lasts until Monday, Oct. 26, which allows it flexibility if Jacobs isn't deemed ready to make his season debut this weekend.
