Chase Claypool: Reaches injury settlement
The Bills have reached an injury settlement with Chase Claypool (toe), Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The Bills placed Claypool on injured reserve Tuesday, but following Thursday's injury settlement, the veteran wideout is now free to catch on elsewhere once he's past a toe issue that he sustained July 28. Unless he ends up in an ideal situation, however, the 2020 second-rounder seems unlikely to make much of a fantasy impact early on this season.

Bills' Chase Claypool: Toe injury lingers
Chase Claypool is still being evaluated for a toe injury, Alec White of the Buffalo Bills' official site reports.Claypool has now missed over a week of practices, and his status for Saturday's preseason opener against the Bears is in question. The Bills signed the 2020 second-rounder this offseason as a high-upside dart to fill out their receiving room, but right now Claypool is no certainty to even make the Week 1 roster, which is in a huge state of flux after a top three of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel.

Bills' Chase Claypool: Progressing toward practice
Chase Claypool (toe) did side work with trainers during Sunday's practice, Alex Brasky of the Batavia Daily News reports.Claypool has now missed a full week of practice but seems to be progressing toward a return. He's more likely to be left off the 53-man roster than earn regular playing time at wide receiver, but the 26-year-old could get a chance down the road this season if he manages to stick around beyond August.

Bills' Chase Claypool: Shines at OTAs
Chase Claypool has been the Buffalo Bills' "most consistent" wide receiver at OTAs, according to Matt Parrino of The Syracuse Post-Standard.It's perhaps not surprising that a 6-foot-4 wideout with 4.42 speed and ample NFL experience looks good in non-contact practices, but it's nonetheless interesting to hear the word 'consistent' used in conjunction with Claypool. He fell out of favor with the Steelers in 2022 and the Bears in 2023, and while Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel complimented him on multiple occasions, Claypool caught only four passes in nine games after a trade to Miami last October. He'll turn 26 in July and has an interesting opportunity ahead, competing for snaps in a high-upside offense where only Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel seem assured of significant playing time at wide receiver. Claypool could even join those two as a regular presence in three-wide sets if his impressive work this spring continues into summer, but he'll have to hold off competition from 33rd overall pick Keon Coleman as well as veterans Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Mack Hollins.

Bills' Chase Claypool: New competition in WR room
Chase Claypool will have more competition for a roster spot after the Buffalo Bills signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a one-year deal Tuesday. The Bills seem to be signing as many journeymen wideouts with proven upside as they can this offseason, and seeing who can stick alongside highly touted rookie Keon Coleman and third-year man Khalil Shakir. For now, it looks like MVS, Claypool, Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins will battle for roster spots and positioning on the depth chart.

Bills' Chase Claypool: Links up with Buffalo
Chase Claypool is signing a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, Jonathan Jones of CBSSports.com reports.Unable to make an impact in Chicago or Miami last season, Claypool now heads to his fourth NFL team for his fifth year in the league. It's about as good of a locale as he could've hoped for, as the Bills have a strong-armed franchise QB and questionable depth at WR. Claypool could perhaps serve as a deep threat off the bench even if his days as a starter are numbered.
