Mekhi Wingo (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.Wingo was sidelined for the Detroit Lions' Week 9 win over the Packers due to an ankle issue, but Wednesday's full practice suggests he's moved past the issue. Now that the rookie from LSU has returned to full health, he's expected to serve as one of the Lions' top rotational defensive tackles in Week 10, when the team travels to Houston.

Lions' Mekhi Wingo: Deemed out for Week 9
Mekhi Wingo (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest versus Green Bay.Wingo popped up on the injury report Thursday due to an ankle issue and didn't practice at all Friday. He was doubtful to play entering the weekend and has now been ruled out against the Packers. With Wingo set to sit out Sunday, the Detroit Lions signed defensive lineman Chris Smith to the active roster Saturday.

Lions' Mekhi Wingo: Lands in Detroit
The Detroit Lions selected Mekhi Wingo in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 189th overall.The Lions traded up to select Wingo, who some believed could be an earlier Day 2 selection. A bit undersized to be a true nose tackle at 6-foot, 286 pounds, the 21-year-old tallied 8.5 sacks throughout the course of this three seasons with LSU and played nearly every defensive snap over the final two years when healthy. Detroit spent the majority of the first two days of the draft beefing up its secondary, but Wingo could make an immediate difference along the interior of the defensive unit in his rookie season.
