PJ Walker: Set loose by Seattle
The Seahawks released P.J. Walker on Tuesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.Walker never seemed like a true candidate to beat out Sam Howell for the No. 2 role behind Geno Smith, but he could resurface on Seattle's practice squad as the team's emergency third quarterback. The veteran signal-caller appeared in six games for the Browns last season.

Browns' PJ Walker: Behind Flacco on depth chart
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that P.J. Walker has been surpassed by Joe Flacco on Cleveland's quarterback depth chart, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.Walker struggled in relief in Week 12 against the Broncos after starter Dorian Thompson-Robinson left the 29-12 loss early due to a concussion. Thompson-Robinson remains in concussion protocol, and even if he isn't cleared in time to play Sunday against the Rams, Flacco would get the start, with Walker backing up the 38-year-old. Flacco will presumably be elevated from the practice squad prior to Sunday, regardless of Thompson-Robinson's status.

Browns' PJ Walker: Needed in relief Sunday
P.J. Walker replaced Dorian Thompson-Robinson (concussion) in the third quarter of Sunday's 29-12 loss to the Broncos and completed six of 13 passes for 56 yards. He also committed two fumbles, losing one, and was sacked in the end zone for a safety. It was a poor day overall for Cleveland quarterbacks, as the duo of Thompson-Robinson and Walker combined for a 47.6 percent completion rate, a 4.5 YPA and just 190 total passing yards. The 28-year-old former Panther has seen significant action in four games this season, managing only one TD pass while committing seven turnovers, but if Thompson-Robinson isn't able to clear the league's concussion protocol by next Sunday, Walker will be the Cleveland Browns' only option under center in Week 13 against the Rams.

Browns' PJ Walker: Not starting this week
P.J. Walker won't start Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, with the Cleveland Browns instead turning to Dorian Thompson-Robinson after Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was ruled out for the season, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.Thompson-Robinson drew a start when Watson missed time earlier this season due to a rotator cuff strain, but the Browns turned the offense over to Walker in the other full two games Watson missed after the rookie tossed three interceptions in a 28-3 loss to the Ravens in Week 4. Walker wasn't much better in the ensuing weeks, continuing the trend of frequent interceptions (five in three extended appearances) even as the Browns won twice under his direction of the offense. Walker offers mobility and arm strength but not much else, having thrown six touchdown passes and 16 picks on 326 career attempts (54.9 percent completion rate, 6.4 YPA). It's nonetheless possible he makes more starts before the end of the season, given that Thompson-Robinson looked unready for the NFL the last time he saw extended action.

Browns' PJ Walker: May not start Week 11
The Cleveland Browns could turn to Dorian Thompson-Robinson rather than P.J. Walker to serve as their starting quarterback Sunday against the Steelers after the team announced Wednesday that Deshaun Watson will undergo season-ending shoulder injury, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.Head coach Kevin Stefanski could shed more light on the Browns' plans at quarterback when he meets with the media later Wednesday, but it appears as though Walker -- who had been operating as Watson's backup for the past two games and made two starts earlier this season -- may give way to Thompson-Robinson this weekend. Meanwhile, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com relays that Cleveland is expected to look into signing another quarterback in the coming days to provide the team with a third option at the position. In his two starts plus three relief appearances behind Watson this season, Walker has thrown for one touchdown against five interceptions while completing just 48 of 98 pass attempts for 618 yards.
