Dan Arnold: Expects to be cut by Eagles
The Eagles plan to release Darnold, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.Dan Arnold was competing for a depth tight end role in Philadelphia but ultimately came up short. The Eagles are doing the veteran a solid by releasing him before the final cut rush commences in order to give him a head start on seeking a new opportunity. The 28-year-old journeyman has spent time with the Saints, Cardinals, Panthers and Jaguars previously in his career.

Eagles' Dan Arnold: Joins Philly TE corps
Dan Arnold has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.Arnold caught just nine passes on 13 targets for 135 yards in 17 games with the Jaguars last season, but in 2021 the 28-year-old logged a career-high 35 catches in 11 contests (three with Carolina and eight with Jacksonville). With the Eagles, Arnold will back up clear-cut starter Dallas Goedert, but in the event that Goedert misses any time, Arnold would have a chance to see some pass-catching opportunities in a tight end corps that also includes Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra, Tyree Jackson and Dalton Keene.

Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Nine catches in 2022
Dan Arnold appeared in all 17 games during the 2022 regular season and caught nine of 13 targets for 135 yards.Arnold operated as a reserve tight end all season and played more than 15 offensive snaps in just one game. Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Draws three targets Week 15
Dan Arnold played 14 of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 67 snaps on offense and finished with a five-yard catch across three targets in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans. In one of the best performances of his young career, quarterback Trevor Lawrence peppered the Jaguars' tight ends with targets. Though starter Evan Engram (11 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 15 targets) did the heavy lifting, Arnold and Chris Manhertz (one catch for 21 yards) also saw some involvement in the passing offense. So long as Engram is healthy, Arnold and Manhertz are unlikely to see their respective roles expand.

Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Plays just three snaps Sunday
Dan Arnold played three of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 61 snaps on offense and wasn't targeted in the team's 28-27 win over the Ravens on Sunday.Arnold went without a target for the first time since Week 6 and tied his lowest snap count of the season. Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Makes one reception in Week 5 loss
Dan Arnold was on the field for eight of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 73 offensive snaps in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Texans, finishing with a 20-yard reception on two targets. After working as the Jaguars' top tight end for a six-game stretch in 2021, Arnold has slid down the depth chart in 2022 due to Jacksonville's offseason pickup of Evan Engram. Even though Engram owns a modest 19-168-0 receiving line on 26 targets through the Jaguars' first five games, Arnold doesn't look as though he's gaining much traction in his bid to supplant him as Jacksonville's starter. While playing fewer than 20 percent of the Jaguars' offensive snaps in all but one of the first five games, Arnold has drawn just four targets.

Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Plays two snaps ahead of cuts
Dan Arnold played just two first-half snaps and wasn't targeted in Saturday's 28-12 preseason loss to Atlanta.Arnold topped Jacksonville's tight end depth chart down the stretch last season after being acquired from Carolina via trade, but he's definitely behind offseason acquisition Evan Engram at this point, and Chris Manhertz seems to also have surpassed Arnold for the No. 2 spot. Arnold didn't do anything to bolster his case to make the team Saturday, but it would be surprising if he got cut, even with 2021 fifth-round pick Luke Farrell also in the mix for a spot at at tight end.

Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Finishes season on sideline
Dan Arnold (knee) wasn't among the players added to Jacksonville's roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's season finale against the Colts.Though Jacksonville restored Arnold from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, the tight end ultimately wasn't able to demonstrate enough progress in his recovery from an MCL sprain to gain clearance from injured reserve. He'll conclude the season with six straight absences, but he should head into the offseason as Jacksonville's No. 1 tight end after turning in a 28-324-0 receiving line on 41 targets over eight games following his acquisition from Carolina in late September. The Jacksonville Jaguars could still look to the draft or free-agent market to provide competition at the position, so Arnold may still have to fight for a starting job during training camp in 2022.

Jaguars' Dan Arnold: Back from COVID list
The Jacksonville Jaguars activated Dan Arnold (knee) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday and restored him to injured reserve.Arnold was placed on the list Dec. 27, five days after being designated for return from IR. Now that he's cleared the NFL's COVID-19 return-to-play protocol, Arnold can turn his attention to proving that he's fully recovered from the sprained MCL he sustained Week 12. If Arnold fares well in practices Wednesday through Friday, he could be activated ahead of Sunday's season finale against the Colts, potentially stepping back in as the Jaguars' top tight end.
