Atlanta signed Riley Patterson off Cleveland's practice squad Wednesday, Terrin Waack of the Atlanta Falcons' official site reports.With Atlanta placingYounghoe Koo (hip) on injured reserve in a corresponding move, Patterson is poised to serve as the Falcons' kicker for the final three games of the regular season. Patterson has bounced around between five different organizations in 2024, having spent time in training camp with the Jaguars and Commanders before making his season debut in Week 9, when the Jets signed him as a one-game replacement for Greg Zuerlein (knee). Patterson then landed with Atlanta's practice squad before getting cut earlier in December and catching on with the Browns, who elevated him from their practice squad last week to replace the struggling Dustin Hopkins as their kicker in a 21-7 loss to the Chiefs. With the Browns having since reaffirmed their commitment to Hopkins, Patterson will head back to Atlanta and will make his third appearance of the season this Sunday against the Giants.

The Browns signed Riley Patterson to their practice squad Tuesday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.The addition of Patterson is a sign that Dustin Hopkins' job could be in jeopardy. Hopkins, who missed two field goals in Sunday's loss to the Steelers, has now converted at just a 64 percent clip for the season, by far the worst rate of his career. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Hopkins will remain the club's kicker for now, but Patterson looks like the next man up if Cleveland decides to make a change. Patterson previously spent time with Cleveland in 2023 when Hopkins sustained a hamstring injury late in the season.
