Ravens' Joe Fagnano: Named Week 9 starter
Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter confirmed Tuesday that Joe Fagnano (ankle) will start Thursday's game against the Jaguars, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. The undrafted rookie out of UConn will make his first NFL start with Lamar Jackson (thumb) headed for injured reserve and Tyler Huntley (toe) unlikely to be available. After both Jackson and Huntley made early departures in Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Bills, Fagnano was pressed into action for the first time in his career and finished with 10 completions on 21 attempts for 91 yards and an interception. Fagnano emerged from the contest with a right ankle injury and was sporting a heavy brace during Tuesday's practice, but he'll be healthy enough to direct the offense for at least one week. Expect the Ravens to lean heavily on the Derrick Henry-led ground attack to help take the pressure off the inexperienced Fagnano, at least for as long as the game script allows for it.

Ravens' Joe Fagnano: Listed as limited due to ankle injury
Joe Fagnano was limited at Monday's walkthrough due to an ankle injury.Fagnano took a hit to his left knee while subbing in for Lamar Jackson (right thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) during Sunday's loss at Buffalo, but the former's health concern has been confirmed to be to his ankle. While Jackson is out indefinitely and Huntley "probably" won't play Thursday against the Jaguars, Fagnano has a chance to play in that contest, per head coach Jesse Minter. Being limited to kick off Week 9 prep is a step in that direction, but Fagnano may need to upgrade to full Tuesday and/or Wednesday to avoid a game designation.

Ravens' Joe Fagnano: Chance to play Thursday
Coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Joe Fagnano (knee) "is fighting through a couple things" but has a chance to play Thursday against the Jaguars.Baltimore's QB room experienced a cascade of injuries during Sunday's loss at Buffalo, with Lamar Jackson requiring thumb surgery and an upcoming IR stint, Tyler Huntley likely tending to a turf-toe injury and Fagnano dealing with a left knee issue and seemingly at least one more health concern. Jackson is feared to be out for the season, and Minter said Huntley "probably" won't play Thursday, which leaves Fagnano as the likely starter, assuming he's healthy enough to suit up.

Ravens' Joe Fagnano: Hopes to be ready for Thursday's game
Joe Fagnano (undisclosed) said that he hopes to be ready for Thursday's game against the Jaguars, but acknowledged he's not 100 percent following Sunday's loss to the Bills, Jonas Shafferof the Baltimore Banner reports.Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Fagnano -- who approached Sunday's contest as the Baltimore Ravens' emergency No. 3 QB -- took some hard hits after replacing the team's top two QBs (Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley). With Jackson slated to land on IR with a thumb injury and Huntley dealing with a toe issue, Fagnano may be pressed into a Week 9 start versus Jacksonville, provided he's not too banged up to handle the assignment.
