Panthers' Bryce Young: Tosses three TDs in upset win
Bryce Young completed 15 of 20 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Rams. He added 23 rushing yards on five carries. The third-year quarterback came up with a heroic effort in the upset win, with two of his TD passes -- a 33-yard strike to Jalen Coker in the third quarter and a 43-yard connection with Tetairoa McMillan in the fourth for the go-ahead score -- coming on fourth-down plays. It's the third three-touchdown performance of the season for Young, and second in the last three games as he finally begins to show signs of emerging as a franchise player for the Carolina Panthers. Young will get a well-deserved rest during Carolina's bye next week before facing the Saints in Week 15.

Panthers' Bryce Young: Rough night in Week 12 loss
Bryce Young completed 18 of 29 passes for 169 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions and added four rushes for 15 yards in the Carolina Panthers' 20-9 loss to the 49ers on Monday night.Young was coming off a career-best day in an overtime win over the Falcons in Week 11, but he experienced some significant regression Monday night. The 2023 first overall pick couldn't make many inroads against what had been a vulnerable 49ers defense, save for a 29-yard scoring strike late in the third quarter, and he finished with multiple interceptions for the first time since Week 1. While neither pick directly led to San Francisco points, the second came with 2:54 remaining at the 49ers' 22-yard line and essentially snuffed out any hopes of a Carolina comeback. Young will aim to bounce back in a Week 13 home matchup against the Rams on Sunday, but that shapes up on paper as a more daunting matchup than the one he came up short in Monday night.

Panthers' Bryce Young: Leans on run game at Lambeau

Instead, the Carolina Panthers' offense leaned heavily on Rico Dowdle out of the backfield, leaving Young to be little more than a game manager. Young will take an 11:6 TD:INT through eight starts into what should be a more favorable matchup in Week 10 against the Saints.

Panthers' Bryce Young: Cleared to play
Bryce Young (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Green Bay, Darin Gantt of the Carolina Panthers' official site reports. He'll return to the starting job after missing just one game with a high-ankle sprain. Even if Young is back at full strength, he's looking at an uphill battle to post strong numbers for Week 9, playing behind an injury-riddled offensive line as a 12.5-point underdog against a top defense.

Panthers' Bryce Young: Decision on Week 9 starter to come
Coach Dave Canales said the Carolina Panthers will make a decision regarding Bryce Young (ankle) taking back the starting job for Sunday's game at Green Bay in the next few days, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. In his return to practice Wednesday, Young was a full participant, taking all the first-team reps in the process, as Canales told Newton. Canales also called Young "day-to-day" due to the high right-ankle sprain that he suffered Week 7 at the Jets, per Newton. Andy Dalton started in place of Young this past Sunday against the Bills, but he came out of that contest with a right thumb injury that didn't allow him to practice Wednesday. Depending on how Young fares Thursday and Friday, he seems poised to miss just one game as a result of the injury.

Panthers' Bryce Young: Practices in full
Bryce Young (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.Young missed Week 8 as the result of a high right-ankle sprain sustained during Carolina's win over the Jets in Week 7, but it looks like he's already recovered enough to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's road matchup against the Carolina Panthers. That would represent an extremely quick return to action considering the severity of Young's injury, so the team could continue to monitor his reps closely at practice Thursday and Friday. Barring any setbacks, though, Young looks set to relieve veteran backup Andy Dalton (thumb), who did not practice Wednesday, after just a one-game absence.
