Chargers RB Ryan Mathews gets the red-light for Week 17
San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews was officially ruled out for Sunday's regular season finale at Kansas City, per the team's official website. Mathews' 2014 regular season campaign comes to an end after appearing in only six games, registering 330 yards and three touchdowns on 74 attempts on the ground. Branden Oliver, Donald Brown and Ronnie Brown will all shoulder the load in the running game. According to Vegas Insiders, the Chargers are a 1-point underdog at Kansas City. San Diego can clinch a playoff spot with a win on Sunday.

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews (ankle) was unable to practice again Wednesday as the team prepared for Sunday's game at Kansas City. Mathews has missed two straight games and nine overall this year. If Mathews can't play, Branden Oliver, Donald Brown and Ronnie Brown would share backfield duties. The Chargers are 3-point underdogs.

Branden Oliver heads Chargers rushing attack in Week 16 win
San Diego Chargers running back Branden Oliver lead the running-back committee Saturday, racking up 53 yards on 13 carries and adding three receptions for 28 yards. Oliver showed plenty of burst while continually churning out positive plays, leading the running-back carousel with 16 of the Chargers backs' 29 touches. Ronnie Brown managed to pick up 33 yards on seven carries while adding a nine-yard reception, and Donald Brown delivered 12 yards on four carries as well as a four-yard reception. If starter Ryan Mathews cannot play in Week 17, Oliver figures to once again lead a multifaceted rushing attack. The Chargers will square off with the Chiefs next Sunday.

Chargers list Week 14 inactives vs. Patriots
The San Diego Chargers have rulled the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 14 matchup with the Patriots: nose tackles Ryan Carrethers (elbow) and Damion Square, running back Ronnie Brown, wide receiver Dontrelle Inman, guard Jeff Baca, tight end David Johnson and linebacker Cordarro Law. Carrethers had already been ruled out for Sunday's game so his absence won't be unexpected. The team does have all three of its questionable players available for action, as linebacker Donald Butler (quad) and offensive linemen D.J. Fluker (concussion) and Chris Watt (calf) are active. Also active are all the team's probable players, including quarterback Philip Rivers (chest), defensive tackle Corey Liuget (knee) and linebacker Andrew Gachkar (knee).

The San Diego Chargers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday's Week 11 matchup with the Raiders: safety Jahleel Addae (concussion), nose tackles Sean Lissemore (quad) and Damion Square, wide receiver Dontrelle Inman, running back Ronnie Brown, cornerback Richard Crawford and linebacker Reggie Walker. Addae is inactive after being listed as questionable on the team's final injury report Friday. Lissemore was doubtful to play in Week 11. The team will have all six players listed as probable available against the Raiders, including running back Ryan Mathews (knee), wide receiver Seyi Ajirotutu (not injury related), center Rich Ohrnberger (back) and linebackers Manti Te'o (foot), Dwight Freeney (not injury related) and Jeremiah Attaochu (hamstring).

Chargers RB Ronnie Brown makes an appearance Thursday
San Diego Chargers running back Ronnie Brown made an appearance Thursday night against the Broncos. Brown received just one carry, gaining 8 yards. He also caught his only target, picking up 2 yards on the play. Brown will look for more Week 9 against the Dolphins.

Chargers sign Ronnie Brown
The San Diego Chargers have signed running back Ronnie Brown, U-T San Diego reports. Brown, who played for San Diego in 2012 and 2013, gained four yards on six carries with the Texans before being waived, adding five yards on one reception.
