The San Francisco 49ers will release veteran cornerback Chris Cook, according to NFL.com. Cook signed a one-year deal with San Francisco in March. He played in six games for the team last season.

Cornerback Chris Cook has re-signed with the San Francisco 49ers to a one-year deal, according to the Baltimore Sun. Cook played in six games last season for the 49ers after playing for the Vikings for four seasons. The 28-year-old has recorded 129 total tackles and 14 passes defensed in his career.

49ers place Chris Cook, Daniel Kilgore on IR
The San Francisco 49ers have placed cornerback Chris Cook (hamstring) and Daniel Kilgore (ankle) on injured reserve. Cook recorded five tackles and one pass defensed while plaing both defense and special teams. Kilgore started each of the team's first seven games before suffering a broken ankle.

The San Francisco 49ers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 7 matchup against the Broncos: cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder), guard Mike Iupati (concussion), linebacker Patrick Willis (toe), safety Jimmie Ward (quad), center Marcus Martin, wide receiver Quinton Patton and defensive end Tank Carradine. The San Francisco 49ers listed 13 players on its final injury report Friday leading up to Week 7 at Denver. linebacker Patrick Willis (toe) and guard Mike Iupati (concussion) were the only two players ruled out on the report. Meanwhile, cornerback Tramaine Brock (toe), cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder), tackle Anthony Davis (knee, ankle) and defensive back Jimmie Ward (quadriceps) were all labeled questionable for Sunday. The following players were ruled probable: Cornerback Chris Cook (quadriceps), cornerback Perrish Cox (quadriceps), tight end Vernon Davis (back), wide receiver Steve Johnson (hip), defensive end Tony Jerod-Eddie (shoulder), defensive tackle Ian Williams (ankle) and defensive end Justin Smith (not injury related).

Chris Cook signs with 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have signed cornerback Chris Cook, reports the Sacramento Bee. It is a one-year deal. Cook spent the first four years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2013 he had 47 total tackles. He has yet to record an interception.
