  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: Active, starting Sunday

Love (knee) is listed as active and will start Sunday against the Vikings, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Love is a bit more than three weeks removed from sustaining a Grade 1-to-2 MCL sprain in his left knee in the waning moments of a Week 1 loss to the Eagles in Brazil. He's slowly but surely ramped up his activity level the last two weeks, yet he didn't manage more than a limited practice in advance of Sunday's game. Still, Love has made enough progress in his recovery to take over direction of the Packers offense, while fill-in starter Malik Willis will return to a backup role. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Love is expected to wear a brace of the outside of the knee in question, which may impact his mobility somewhat.

  • Dolphins' Skylar Thompson: Could be emergency third QB

Thompson relayed Saturday that he remains in discomfort due to the rib/chest injury he sustained during Week 3 action, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

"It's been pretty painful," Thompson said Saturday. "Trying to maneuver through it. Not a lot you can do for it. That's what's tough. Doing everything I can to promote the process and heal up. Definitely been discomforting for sure." As Monday night's game against the Titans approaches, Thompson is officially listed as questionable, but the Dolphins have already announced that Tyler Huntley will draw the start, with Tim Boyle slated to back him up. Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, Thompson might be available as the team's emergency quarterback, with added clarity on that front set to arrive once Miami's inactives are posted ahead of Monday's 7:30 ET kickoff.

  • Dolphins' Skylar Thompson: Won't start Monday

Thompson (ribs) may operate as the third-string quarterback after it was announced Tyler Huntley would start Monday against the Titans, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

For what it's worth, this doesn't seem to be a decision made due to Thompson's injury, as the third-year quarterback practiced in limited fashion all week and is listed as questionable for Monday's contest. In the same report, it was also announced Tim Boyle would serve as the team's backup behind Huntley, leaving Thompson to fall to third string after struggling to the tune of 5.6 yards per attempt on 13 completions before leaving early in the third quarter in the Week 3 loss to Seattle due to a ribs injury.

  • Tim Boyle QB | TEN

Dolphins' Tim Boyle: Newly minted backup

Boyle is set to be the backup to newly announced starter Tyler Huntley ahead of Monday's primetime matchup against the Titans, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Boyle didn't do much in replacement of the injured Skylar Thompson (ribs) during the Dolphins' Week 3 loss to the Seahawks, completing seven of his 13 passes for 79 yards over effectively two quarters. However, with Thompson listed as questionable in advance of Monday's contest and Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) on IR, Boyle is slated to work as Huntley's primary backup versus Tennessee.

  • Justin Herbert QB | LAC

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Expected to play

Herbert (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Chiefs, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Herbert, who is listed as questionable for the contest, will go through a pre-game warmup to determine completely if he's able to go, but the expectation is that the franchise signal caller will be available for the pivotal divisional matchup against the Chiefs. The fifth-year starter played in a similar circumstance last week, only to leave early in the fourth quarter after aggravating the reported high-ankle sprain. The Chargers have an early bye next week and this week are expecting to miss both starting tackles, Rashawn Slater (pectoral) and Joe Alt (knee), so it wasn't a guarantee Herbert would play in this one. Expect the offense to lean heavily on the rushing attack, like it always does, to neutralize the high-scoring capability of the Chiefs and try to keep the game close.

  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: Trending toward playing

Love (knee) is expected to be active Sunday against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Love was a limited participant all week and looked good in his pre-game warmup against the Titans in Week 3, setting the stage for the franchise signal caller to make his return in Lambeau against a surprisingly fearsome Vikings defense come Sunday. The Packers haven't officially changed the injury designation of Love, but the lack of a practice-squad elevation of Sean Clifford effectively tipped the team's hand on the matter. While Love has looked comfortably mobile in the few glimpses of the quarterback during practice, it's fair to speculate if the team might be a bit reserved from a play-calling perspective with its prized quarterback in order to maintain his health for the rest of the season.

  • Tyler Huntley QB | BAL

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Set to start Monday

Huntley will start Monday against the Titans, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Saturday that Huntley would start after joining the team from Baltimore's practice squad one week earlier. As a result, Tim Boyle will operate as the team's backup. It's a move that could open the offense after Skylar Thompson struggled mightily in his 2024 starting debut before ultimately leaving with a ribs injury late in the Week 3 loss to the Seahawks.

  • Justin Herbert QB | LAC

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Questionable for Week 4

Herbert (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Herbert, who was limited in all three of the Chargers' practices this week, previously relayed that he's "doing everything he can" to play this weekend despite having aggravated his high right-ankle sprain last Sunday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports. While it's possible that the Chargers will consider erring on the side of caution with Herbert, considering the team is on bye Week 5, the QB indicated Wednesday he doesn't "think that's the way we're heading." Look for added information concerning his status to arrive late Saturday or early Sunday in advance of the team's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, but if Herbert is held out versus Kansas City, Taylor Heinicke would presumably fill in, per Rhim.

  • Dolphins' Skylar Thompson: Logs another limited practice

Thompson (ribs) remained limited at practice Friday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Thompson now has one more opportunity to upgrade his practice participation ahead of Monday night's game against the Titans, with Saturday's final injury report destined to add a layer of context regarding his Week 4 availability by revealing his game status. For now, the Dolphins aren't tipping their hand on which QB will start against Tennessee in the continued absence of Tua Tagovailoa (IR, concussion), with Thompson -- if he's deemed healthy enough -- Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle all under consideration for the assignment.

  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: Listed as questionable

Love (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Love was a limited participant in each practice this week and now heads into the weekend looking truly questionable ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. He also was listed as questionable the past two games, but for Week 2 he was downgraded to doubtful and for Week 3 there were early reports suggesting he wouldn't play. This time around, it looks like closer to 50/50, with the Packers perhaps inclined to be less cautious than usual on account of the divisional matchup against an undefeated rival. QB Malik Willis will make his third straight start if Love doesn't end up playing.
