Godwin (ankle), who is inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons, is targeting the Buccaneers' Week 5 matchup with the Seahawks on Oct. 5 for his 2025 debut, Ian Rapoport and Judy Battista of NFL Network reports.

After requiring an initial surgery in October 2024 to repair a dislocated left ankle, Godwin underwent a follow-up procedure in the spring to tighten up the hardware inserted during the prior surgery. Though Godwin hasn't hit any unexpected snags in the recovery process, he has yet to resume practicing and is on track to miss at least a few more games before taking the field for the Buccaneers. Though Tampa Bay could have placed Godwin on a reserve list to open up a spot on the 53-man roster, the team avoided doing so with the hope that the veteran wideout will be able to resume practicing within the next few weeks. He'll likely need to turn in a full practice at some point during Week 5 to have a realistic shot at playing against the Seahawks, though the Buccaneers believe that a Week 6 or 7 return could be in the forecast for Godwin if he needs a little extra time to fully ramp up.

Horn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

The rookie sixth-rounder earned a spot on the Panthers' 53-man roster in a depth role at wide receiver and special teams, but he'll have to wait at least one more week to make his NFL regular-season debut. David Moore and Brycen Tremayne will serve in depth roles at wide receiver Sunday while Trevor Etienne handles return duties.

Lazard (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's season opener versus the Steelers, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.

After he was a major disappointment in the first season of his four-year, $44 million deal with the Jets in 2023, Lazard had something of a bounce-back effort in 2024, turning in a 37-530-6 receiving line on 60 targets over 12 games. With Davante Adams moving on to the Rams over the offseason, Lazard was presumed to be locked into a top-three role at receiver heading into 2025, but first-year head coach Aaron Glenn has instead elected to make the veteran wideout a healthy inactive for Week 1. With Lazard in street clothes, practice-squad call-up Tyler Johnson could be in position to serve as the Jets' No. 3 receiver behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds, while gadget player Xavier Gipson and rookie fourth-round pick Arian Smith are available as depth options at the position.

Chism is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Raiders.

Chism secured a roster spot with a strong preseason, but his NFL regular-season debut is on hold for now. In Week 1, Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams will handle the Patriots' WR duties.

Eskridge (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Eskridge was limited in practice all week, but he has passed the league's five-step concussion protocol and will play in Sunday's regular-season opener in Indianapolis. Eskridge appeared in six regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2024 and logged three catches (on as many targets) for 44 yards while adding 146 kick return yards.

Burton (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Burton had a tumultuous rookie season but had gotten strong reviews for improvement throughout the offseason. That makes it particularly surprising that he'll be inactive for Week 1, though Charlie Jones and Mitchell Tinsley -- both active-- are set to serve as depth wide receivers and special teams contributors on Sunday.

Larvadain (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Larvadain had an impressive training camp and preseason to make an unlikely rise up the depth chart to claim a roster spot. He'll be inactive for Week 1, however, with Isaiah Bond and DeAndre Carter instead set to serve as the depth wide receivers for the Browns.

Mooney (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.

After Mooney turned in a trio of limited practices this week, head coach Raheem Morris gauged the wideout as a game-time decision leading up to Sunday's contest. Ultimately, the Falcons decided it was for the best to hold Mooney out for the season opener after he injured his shoulder during the first practice of training camp and proceeded to miss the team's entire preseason slate. With Mooney sidelined, the Falcons will likely turn to KhaDarel Hodge and Casey Washington to handle more snaps alongside No. 1 wideout Drake London and slot man Ray-Ray McCloud.

Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder during Friday's 27-21 loss to the Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but the Chiefs haven't yet determined how much time the receiver will miss, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Worthy sustained the injury on the Chiefs' opening drive of the game, when he took on the brunt of a violent collision with teammate Travis Kelce. The wideout is set to receive a second opinion on his injury before the team has a clearer idea on how long he might be sidelined, but Rapoport relays that the most likely option is that Worthy gets fitted for a supportive brace on his shoulder that will allow him to return at some point this season. However, if Worthy receives unfavorable news from his upcoming second opinion, surgery could still be in the cards for the second-year receiver. The loss of Worthy for any length of time would leave the Chiefs further shorthanded at receiver, as top target Rashee Rice won't be eligible to make his season debut until Week 7 while he serves a league-imposed six-game suspension.

Williams and the Lions agreed Saturday on a three-year, $83 million contract extension with $67 million guaranteed, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Williams broke out with a career-best campaign in 2024, recording 58 catches for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 61 yards and another touchdown over 15 regular-season contests. Detroit picked up the Alabama product's fifth-year option in late April, and the sides have now agreed upon a deal that will keep Williams with the team for at least three more campaigns. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jared Goff are signed through 2028, so the trio is slated to work together for the foreseeable future.
