  • Rams' Ahkello Witherspoon: Officially placed on IR

The Rams placed Witherspoon (shoulder) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Witherspoon will miss the remainder of Los Angeles' postseason contests, including Sunday's divisional-round matchup against the Bears, due to a scapula injury he aggravated during the team's 34-31 win over the Panthers in the wild-card round. Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports that Witherspoon broke his scapula for a second time this season versus Carolina, which would burden him with a multimonth recovery that could impact his availability for the start of OTAs.

  • Ty Johnson RB | BUF

Bills' Ty Johnson: Not ready to practice

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that Johnson (ankle) won't practice Tuesday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Though he was inactive for the Bills' wild-card win over the Jaguars this past Sunday, Johnson was able to practice in a limited fashion Friday. The running back will take a step down in terms of activity as the team begin prep for Saturday's divisional-round game in Denver. Johnson will likely need to put in a full practice session by Thursday for the Bills to feel optimistic about his chances of being part of the backfield rotation this weekend.

  • Nick Broeker OG | BUF

Bills' Nick Broeker: Gets future contract with Bills

Buffalo signed Broeker to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.

Broeker won't be eligible to participate in the Bills' postseason contests, but he will remain with the team during the offseason to continue his development. He participated in nine regular-season games with Houston in 2024 but did not log a regular-season appearance in 2025.

  • Tyrell Shavers WR | BUF

Bills' Tyrell Shavers: Sustains torn ACL in wild-card win

Head coach Sean McDermott announced Tuesday that Shavers (knee) sustained a torn ACL in the Bills' 27-24 win over the Jaguars in the wild-card round, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.

With Gabe Davis (knee) also suffering a season-ending ACL tear in the playoff opener, the Bills are currently left with just Khalil Shakir, Brandin Cooks and Keon Coleman as the lone healthy receivers on the 53-man roster, though Curtis Samuel (elbow) could be activated from injured reserve ahead of Saturday's divisional-round game in Denver. Given the timing of Shavers' ACL tear, his recovery from surgery is likely to extend into the 2026 season.

  • Chazz Surratt LB | SEA

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Designated for return to practice

The Seahawks designated Surratt (ankle) to return from injured reserve Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Surratt will have his 21-day practice window open in preparation for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the 49ers. The depth linebacker is recovering from an ankle injury suffered Week 12 versus the Titans, prior to which he had operated as one of Seattle's top playmakers on special teams.

  • Fred Warner MLB | SF

49ers' Fred Warner: Returning to practice Tuesday

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Warner (ankle) will be designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday in order to participate in walkthroughs, with the hope that he could return for the NFC Championship Game if the 49ers advance that far in the postseason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Warner will officially have his practice window open Tuesday, though Shanahan's comments echo an earlier report from Mike Garafolo of NFL Network which indicated that the star linebacker is not expected to take part in on-field sessions in advance of Saturday's divisional-round matchup in Seattle. Should San Francisco defeat the Seahawks on Saturday, however, Warner could be a candidate to practice and return for the team's following playoff matchup. Warner is recovering from a dislocated and fractured right ankle suffered Week 6, and Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports that he was officially listed as limited at Tuesday's walkthrough.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Surgery on tap Wednesday

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that Kittle (Achilles) will undergo season-ending surgery Wednesday.

Kittle will have his surgery three days after tearing his right Achilles tendon in the second quarter of a 23-19 win over the Eagles in the wild-card round. Since most Achilles tears typically entail 9-to-12-month recovery periods, Kittle appears likely to be sidelined for at least some portion of the 2026 season. Jake Tonges will serve as the 49ers' top pass-catching tight end in Kittle's absence for the duration of the team's playoff run, and blocking specialist Luke Farrell may also be in line for added snaps.

  • Kamal Hadden CB | GB

Packers' Kamal Hadden: Expects 4-to-5-month recovery

Hadden (fibia/fibula) expects to face "a four- or five-month recovery" due to the broken right tibia and fibula he suffered versus the Ravens in Week 17, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Hadden is still using a knee coaster for mobility early January, as he recovers from surgery undergone to address a pair of fractures suffered to the area of his lower right leg. The reserve cornerback said he's taking his rehab a "day at a time." Hadden is slated to become an exclusive rights free agent this offseason, meaning Green Bay will have the option to retain him via a one-year, minimum-salary tender.

  • 49ers' Ricky Pearsall: Set for limited practice

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Pearsall (knee/ankle) will be listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Pearsall hasn't practiced over the past two weeks after aggravating a right knee PCL injury in addition to injuring his ankle, but the wideout is showing some progress as the 49ers gear up for a divisional-round matchup with the Seahawks on Saturday. If Pearsall is available for the contest, there should be targets up for grabs after star tight end George Kittle suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon in a wild-card win over the Eagles.

  • Brandon Jones SAF | DEN

Broncos' Brandon Jones: Out at least two more games

Jones (pectoral) could be a candidate to return to action for Super Bowl LX, if the Broncos advance to that point in the postseason, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Jones was placed on IR in mid-December and subsequently underwent surgery to repair a torn pec suffered Week 15 versus the Packers. While he could be a candidate to return early February, Jones will remain sidelined for Sunday's divisional-round matchup against the Bills or the AFC Championship Game, leaving P.J. Locke (leg) to continue filling in as Denver's starting free safety.
