  • Jackson Acker RB | BUF

    Jackson Acker: Waived by Buffalo

Acker was waived by the Bills on Monday, Alec White of the team's official site reports.

The fullback signed with Buffalo as an undrafted free agent in May after five seasons at Wisconsin. Acker saw action on three offensive snaps and four special-teams snaps in the Bills' preseason opener against the Panthers on Saturday, as he continued to compete with Ben VanSumeren for the team's open fullback role.

  • Nick Hampton LB | CAR

    Nick Hampton: Reaches injury settlement

Hampton (undisclosed) was waived after reaching an injury settlement with the Panthers on Monday, Kassidy Hill of the team's official website reports.

Hampton reverted to injured reserve with Carolina on Aug. 10 after he was waived/injured one day earlier. Now that he has reached an injury settlement with the team, he'll be able to pass a physical and potentially play elsewhere in 2026. The linebacker compiled 10 total tackles (four solo) over 12 regular-season contests with the Rams in 2025, playing 194 of his 306 total snaps with the special-teams unit.

  • Bryce Hall CB | HOU

    Texans' Bryce Hall: Joins Houston

Hall signed with the Texans on Monday.

The cornerback spent the entire 2025 season on Tampa Bay's practice squad. Hall last started an NFL regular-season game in 2023 with the Jets.

  • Marcus Banks DB | TB

Marcus Banks: Let go with injury designation

The Buccaneers waived Banks (undisclosed) on Monday with an injury designation, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

The nature and severity of Banks' injury isn't clear, but it may have prevented him from playing in the Buccaneers' 24-16 preseason win over the Jets on Friday. If Banks clears waivers, then he would revert to injured reserve and be forced to sit for the entire 2026 season, unless he reached an injury settlement with Tampa Bay.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Moves past injury

Overshown (lower body) participated at the Cowboys' training camp practice Monday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Overshown was dealing with a lower-body injury at practice last week, and he did not participate in the team's 17-7 preseason victory over the Seahawks on Saturday. The inside linebacker was handling first-team reps at practice Monday, and he now appears to be good to go ahead of the team's preseason matchup with the Cardinals on Saturday, if Dallas chooses to play its starters.

  • J.J. Roberts DB | TB

    Buccaneers' J.J. Roberts: Practices Monday

Roberts (knee) practiced in full pads Monday, according to PewterReport.com.

It was the first session for the safety since he injured his ACL during a joint practice with the Steelers in August 2025. Roberts signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent last year and was playing well during his first training camp before the injury. Now that he's back on the field, he'll look to make a case for a spot on the 53-man roster.

  • Parker Hughes LB | JAC

Jaguars' Parker Hughes: Lands on injured reserve

The Jaguars placed Hughes (undisclosed) on injured reserve Monday.

Hughes may have sustained the injury during the Jaguars' 24-20 preseason win over the Saints on Saturday, when he played six snaps on special teams without showing up in the box score otherwise. The rookie seventh-rounder will now be forced to miss the entire 2026 season unless an injury settlement is reached with Jacksonville.

  • Baylon Spector LB | JAC

Jaguars' Baylon Spector: Inks deal with Jacksonville

Spector signed a contract with the Jaguars on Monday.

The Jaguars are bringing Spector in to fortify their depth at linebacker after rookie seventh-rounder Parker Hughes (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve. Spector appeared in three regular-season games for the Bills in 2025 and played in each of Buffalo's two postseason games, totaling four tackles (two solo) across those five contests.

  • Khalil Dinkins: Works out with San Francisco

Dinkins (undisclosed) had a tryout with the 49ers on Saturday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.

Dinkins was waived by the Niners in July after suffering a non-football injury, but he now appears to be back to full health. The tight end signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in April, and he'll look to latch on with a squad in an attempt to make his NFL debut before the end of the preseason.

  • Za'Darius Smith OLB | ATL

Za'Darius Smith: Gets look from Atlanta

The Falcons hosted Smith for a tryout Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Smith worked out with the Browns on Thursday, and it looked like there was momentum building toward the veteran pass rusher reuniting with the team he played for in 2023 and for part of 2024. However, it looks like the Falcons have entered the mix, as Atlanta will be without Jalon Walker for the season due to a torn ACL and James Pearce for eight games due to a suspension. Smith announced his retirement from the NFL in October but elected to resume his career in the offseason.
