Chiasson was released from his professional tryout agreement Wednesday.
Chiasson had no points in three preseason appearances with the Red Wings this year. The 34-year-old is a veteran of 651 career NHL games, but he didn't play at all in 2023-24 after failing to make the Bruins' roster out of training camp. Chiasson did record six goals and nine points across 20 outings with Detroit in 2022-23.
