Severson recorded an assist, three shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Wild.

Severson is in a top-four role to begin the season, and he's also on the second power-play unit. In 2023-24, he had just 28 points over 67 contests in his first year with the Blue Jackets, his lowest output in a full-length season since 2017-18. He can be a useful depth defenseman in fantasy with better offense, but his totals in hits and blocked shots are fairly modest, leaving him with little upside for category coverage.
