Subban was acquired by the Blue Jackets from St. Louis on Friday in exchange for future considerations.
Subban will report to AHL Cleveland and figures to serve primarily as a reserve option for Columbus before hitting free agency this offseason. The addition of Subban could be an indication that the Jackets are preparing to offload Elvis Merzlikins, who previously submitted a trade request.
