Montembeault made 39 saves in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Capitals.
The Canadiens were outshot 42-26 on the night, and while Montembeault took a 2-0 lead into the third period, he eventually crumbled under the barrage. The 29-year-old netminder has started four of Montreal's last nine games, going 3-0-1 with a 2.40 GAA and a .921 save percentage as he makes a push to regain the top spot in the crease.
