Hagelin (lower body) will begin the season on the injured non-roster list, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Hagelin dealt with a lower-body injury during training camp after returning from an eye issue that sidelined him for the final 27 games of the 2021-22 season. He also missed all six of Washington's playoff contests. Hagelin will be unavailable again for the start of the year.
