Brodzinski was recalled from AHL Hershey on Saturday.
In a corresponding move, Washington moved Pierre-Luc Dubois (illness) to injured reserve. Brodzinski has notched two goals and three assists in four minor-league outings this season. He will be an option for Saturday's game against New Jersey.
