McElhinney announced his retirement from professional hockey Saturday, per TSN.
The 38-year-old journeyman netminder donned eight different sweaters over a 13-year NHL career, appearing in a total of 249 regular-season contests. McElhinney won back-to-back Stanley Cups with Tampa Bay in 2019-20 and 2020-21, while his career high in wins (20) came in 2018-19 with Carolina.
