Harkins was promoted from AHL San Diego on Friday, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.
Harkins' promotion comes as Isac Lundestrom sustained an upper-body injury in Wednesday's matchup with Utah. If there is an open spot in the lineup, it will likely come down to Harkins or Ross Johnston for a place on the fourth line alongside Brett Leason and Brock McGinn.
