Barber put pen to paper on a one-year, two-way deal with Dallas on Thursday.
Barber has logged just 16 games at the NHL level for the Capitals, Canadiens and Red Wings without having registered a point yet. As such, the 28-year-old winger should probably be expected to spend the bulk of the upcoming season in the minors, though he could get the occasional call-up.
