Zegras scored an empty-net goal on two shots in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Sharks.
Zegras helped secure the season-opening win for the Ducks with his tally at 18:25 of the third period. The forward started the game at right wing -- he's a left-handed shooter but was playing alongside fellow lefties Robby Fabbri and Mason McTavish at even strength. The Ducks have some flexibility with as many as four potential top-six centers, though Zegras' creativity may be better suited to a winger spot. He struggled with 15 points over 31 games in an injury-riddled 2023-24, but he's poised for a bounce-back year if he can stay healthy.
