Kirkland produced an assist and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Kirkland has two points, eight hits, three blocks and a plus-3 rating over his three NHL appearances this season. The 28-year-old is strengthening his grip on the fourth-line center spot that was occupied by Kevin Rooney (undisclosed) prior to his injury in the season opener. Kirkland's role is still too limited to be useful in fantasy, but he's been a positive story on the ice after an arduous journey to competing for a full-time NHL job.
