Hayton recorded an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Rangers.
The 24-year-old center opened the scoring early in the first period, taking a slick feed from Clayton Keller and snapping a shot past Igor Shesterkin from in close. Hayton has goals in all three of Utah's games to begin the season, racking up three tallies and five points in total, and the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft might finally be ready for a long-awaited breakout.
