Horvat bagged two goals on five shots in Friday's 5-2 preseason win over the Rangers.
Horvat opened his account with a power-play goal in the final minutes of the first half and scored again with a snap shot in the second period. He is coming off a career-best season in 2023-24 after notching 68 points (33 goals, 35 assists) across 81 regular-season appearances. Horvat is slated to center the Islanders' first line in the campaign opener against Utah on Oct. 10.
