Demers inked a one-year deal with AK Bars (KHL) on Monday.
Demers hasn't played overseas since the 2012-13 campaign with Karpat. Still, with no interest from NHL teams this offseason, the 33-year-old defenseman will give the KHL a shot. This likely marks the end of the Quebec native's 12-year NHL career which will see him eventually retire having logged 699 games for San Jose, Arizona, Dallas and Florida in which he garnered 45 goals and 169 assists.
