Samberg scored a goal and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Oilers.
Samberg has already matched his goal total from last season after scoring 4:37 into the second period of the opening contest in 2024-25. The defenseman is slated to fill a top-four role, stepping up into the spot vacated by the offseason departure of Brenden Dillon. Samberg had 18 points, 77 shots on net, 111 blocked shots, 65 hits and a plus-16 rating in 78 regular-season appearances in 2023-24, but a larger role could lead to him earning his first 20-point campaign this year.
