Appleton scored a goal on three shots, added two assists, went plus-3 and logged two hits in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Oilers.

Appleton and linemates Adam Lowry and Nino Niederreiter were a big part of the Jets' early offense, factoring in on three of the team's first four goals. That trio often functions as a shutdown line, but Wednesday's performance showed how they can control play on offense as well. Appleton had a career-high 14 goals and 36 points in 82 regular-season games last year, and his hot start to 2024-25 gives him a chance of putting up similar numbers.
