Clarke was sent down to AHL Ontario on Friday.
Time will tell if this is a paper move, but Clarke's ice time has been dropping and the Kings can't afford any passengers in the playoff race. The 22-year-old has also gone seven games without a point at the NHL level and could benefit from regaining confidence in the AHL. He has 25 points over 56 appearances at the NHL level.
