Copley was assigned to AHL Ontario on Saturday.
In a relief appearance, Copley allowed two goals on 12 shots in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to Toronto after David Rittich got pulled. Copley's return to the minors could bode well for the availability of Darcy Kuemper (lower body) ahead of Sunday's contest in Anaheim.
