Nelson was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Friday.
Nelson hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he'll join the Kraken to provide additional depth after Brandon Montour (lower body) exited Thursday's game against the Lightning. Nelson has had a solid start to the year in the AHL, recording four assists and six PIM over his first five regular-season appearances.
