Soderstrom will not be handed a qualifying offer by the Islanders, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.
Soderstrom has already agreed to play for Assat (Finland) next season, so the decision not to qualify him simply cements his departure from the club. It would take a banner year overseas for the netminder to earn his way back into the NHL.
