Thrun was assigned to AHL Toronto on Wednesday.
The Maple Leafs recalled Marshall Rifai from the minors in a corresponding move. Thrun has been a healthy scratch for the last three games. He should see more consistent playing time in the minors, where he has three goals and 14 points in 28 games this season.
