Calvert (undisclosed) will hang up his skates after 11 NHL seasons due to lingering injury concerns.
Calvert played in 566 games for the Blue Jackets and Avalanche over the course of his career in which he tallied 95 goals, 108 assists and 376 PIM while averaging 14:07 of ice time. The 31-year-old winger was limited to just 18 games this past year due to his undisclosed injuries. Without Calvert around, the Avs will turn to youngsters like Alex Newhook and Kiefer Sherwood to bolster their forward depth.
