Kane (hip) was put on long-term injured reserve Tuesday.

After undergoing surgery Sept. 20 to repair two torn hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles, Kane will be out until the calendar flips to 2025. Still, there is no exact timetable for his return. He produced 24 goals, 44 points, 220 shots on net and 250 hits in 77 regular-season contests in 2023-24. The Oilers signed Viktor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner in the summer as top-six replacements.
