Panthers' Carter Verhaeghe: Adds two goals, assist Tuesday
Verhaeghe scored two goals, including one on a power play, recorded an assist and fired six shots on net in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Ottawa.
Verhaeghe tallied his first goal of the game on a power-play midway through the first period before striking again just over five minutes later at even strength. He later picked up a secondary helper on Matthew Tkachuk's goal in the second period to put the Panthers up 6-1. The trio of points brought Verhaeghe up to 23 goals, 30 assists, 175 shots on net, 63 hits and 21 blocked shots through 72 games this season. The 30-year-old winger has been relatively consistent in March with six goals and 10 points over his last 11 games. His three-point outing Tuesday helped him match his total of 53 points across 81 regular-season games a year ago. Verhaeghe still has time to secure 60 or more points in a season for the third time in his career, making him a solid fantasy option for the remainder of the season.
