Hayes was brought up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.
Hayes has failed to register a point in his last 10 NHL games while chipping in 13 shots, 12 PIM and 11 hits. The decision to bring Hayes up from the minors would seem to indicate that Sidney Crosby (lower body) or Evgeni Malkin (upper body) won't be ready to face the Islanders on Monday.
