Jones (lower body) was taken off the non-roster list Wednesday, per the NHL media site.
Jones' activation comes as he finished serving a 20-game suspension for violating the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program while recovering from a lower-body problem. Even with Jones now eligible to play against the Lightning on Thursday, he's far from a lock to break into the lineup, especially with the Penguins having won two straight contests.
