Hayes scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Sabres.
Hayes didn't make his season debut until Nov. 8 after opening the season on the IR due to an upper-body injury, and he needed seven games to score his first goal. The 33-year-old veteran should remain in a middle-six role for the time being, but he's not expected to carry a lot of fantasy upside across the board.
