Letang scored a power-play goal on two shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Letang has opened the season with a goal and an assist, both on the power play, over three games. The defenseman has added four shots on net, five hits, four PIM and a minus-3 rating. His struggles in his own zone have yet to cost him ice time -- Letang remains a top-four option, but at 37 years old, it's possible he's lost a step on the ice. Helping his scoring to begin 2024-25 is the Penguins' willingness to deploy both Letang and Erik Karlsson on the top power-play unit.
