Leonard scored twice in AHL Grand Rapids' 4-2 win over Rockford on Saturday.
Leonard has two goals through two games this season. The forward stood out with 54 points over 47 regular-season outings in the AHL last year, which also led to him getting four points in 11 NHL contests. Leonard represents a veteran option for a call-up if the Red Wings need extra forward depth.
