Boyle was reassigned to Detroit's taxi squad Monday.
Boyle continues to rotate spots with Kaden Fulcher, who was sent to AHL Grand Rapids in a corresponding move. Neither goalie is expected to see NHL action with Thomas Greiss and Jonathan Bernier sharing the crease in Detroit.
